If a calculator gives an answer of 5.2 x 10^3, how do you convert this to an ordinary number?
Move the decimal point 3 places to the left, resulting in 0.0052
Move the decimal point 3 places to the right, resulting in 5200
Add three zeros to the end of the number, resulting in 52000
Divide the number by 1000
